UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, renowned English singer and award-winning songwriter Dua Lipa came all the way to Lebanon to meet children and young people supported by UNICEF, including many uprooted by the eight-year conflict in Syria.
On April 14, 2019, she visited Hoops, in Beirut, to spend an exciting day with youths full of thrilling activities and games.
During her visit, she was introduced to the Sports for Development Program and its showcases on how life skills can be gained through football and basketball activities. This turned into an engaging awareness session with a sociologist and an open discussion, where youths had the chance to share their success stories and the impact sport has had on their lives.
This day is part of an ambitious 12 months program that encompasses several impactful initiatives to effectively reach a total of 3,840 adolescents and 60 adolescents peer educators throughout Lebanon. The program gives youths across the country crucial life skills rooted in active citizenship, learning, personal empowerment, and employability.
Thank you so much Dua Lipa, for leaving behind memorable moments and warm smiles on the children’s faces.
